Daphne Lambert has held workshops in Lewes and is also working with new local resident Sharifin Gardiner on an edible forest garden for the Chelsea Flower Show 2020 I asked him to entice us all with some observations…

To enjoy the fabulous food in her converted stable, either home grown, culled from the wild or from  specialist suppliers,  is to enter a vegetable wonderland where bunches of herbs hang from the rafters are dozens of bottles, dried herbs,  fermented food and liquor  lining rows of shelves.

The experience of her workshops evokes a feeling of calm and wholeness which leads to a deep understanding of how we can best become healthier whilst savouring stunning designer tasty morsels. Sitting around small tables and sharing in discussions awakens joy of shared community living with more awareness of the personal choices, we always intended to make; also how what we buy affects low paid workers and our planet.

With gentle humour and astounding knowledge on all matters linked to food, Daphne gently illuminates eating choices.

Above all the workshops I attended in Lewes were conversations and we left feeling so much better than when we arrived, the experience a feast for soil and soul.
