Barley Lane
Hastings, East Sussex TN35 5NX
UK
The walk starts at 10am and finishes at 2pm – don’t worry we won’t be walking for 4 hours! Ben’s foraging exploits are usually run at a very leisurely pace and involve enjoying a picnic (bring your own picnic and flask of hot water- you will be adding foraged things to it!).
Cost is £10 for the session. Meet us in the car park in Barley Lane, Hastings.
Ben says:
‘There’s both food and medicine to be foraged for free in Ecclesbourne Glen. We have to know what to look for, of course – and how to forage responsibly – but mostly it’s our common sense that will guide us.
Please wear trekking footwear and appropriate weather gear, and if you can, a paper bag, a clean plastic food bag, some string a few rubber bands and a penknife! (Oh…mysterious).
We will taste some summer favourites, put some herbs in oil (to make into an ointment on the next walk) and apply a freshly made poultice.’
All welcome. No need to book.
