  • Pot Luck Dinner March 2019

    Pot Luck Dinner March 2019

Our popular, relaxed and friendly dinners where everyone brings something (food or soft drink) to the table. Yummy food is shared and new friends are made.

There will be a section in the evening where we will give people the opportunity to speak to everyone (5 minutes max!) about a new or possibly not so new eco-project that they want to flag up or need support for. We will also be asking people for ideas- for future Pot Luck Dinners.

And lastly, there will be a very small £1 entrance fee per person- to help raise funds for the Community created Mosaic -which is going to be outside Warrior Square Station this summer- watch this space!

    Hope to see you there!

  • How well do you know your food? Conversations and tastings with Daphne Lambert

How well do you know your food? Conversations and tastings with Daphne Lambert

    Book your ticket here: https://tth-greencuisine.eventbrite.com

Vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, carnivoreevery day with every mouthful your choice affects the wellbeing of animals, humans & the environment.

Daphne Lambert – chef, nutritionist, author & environmentalist and founder of the Greencuisine Trust explores the stories behind our food.

Greencuisine Trust is a food education charity, inspiring ways to grow process and eat food that nourishes people and minimises harm to the environment.

    http://www.greencuisinetrust.org/

Daphne Lambert has held workshops in Lewes and is also working with new local resident Sharifin Gardiner on an edible forest garden for the Chelsea Flower Show 2020 I asked him to entice us all with some observations…

To enjoy the fabulous food in her converted stable, either home grown, culled from the wild or from  specialist suppliers,  is to enter a vegetable wonderland where bunches of herbs hang from the rafters are dozens of bottles, dried herbs,  fermented food and liquor  lining rows of shelves.

The experience of her workshops evokes a feeling of calm and wholeness which leads to a deep understanding of how we can best become healthier whilst savouring stunning designer tasty morsels. Sitting around small tables and sharing in discussions awakens joy of shared community living with more awareness of the personal choices, we always intended to make; also how what we buy affects low paid workers and our planet.

With gentle humour and astounding knowledge on all matters linked to food, Daphne gently illuminates eating choices.

Above all the workshops I attended in Lewes were conversations and we left feeling so much better than when we arrived, the experience a feast for soil and soul.

  • Sustainability on Sea micro festival

    Sustainability on Sea micro festival

The Sustainability on Sea (SOS) festival acts as a showcase for local projects inspiring local residents, young and old, to learn, explore and try the latest in all things environmentally friendly, whilst also having fun.

The festival will take place between Saturday 21st–Sunday 29th September 2019, tying in nicely with World Car Free Day (Sep 22) and culminating with an all-day Big Green Fair on the 29th. The Green Fair will have stall holders, information stands, talks, activities for children and entertainment.

The theme this year will be What we can do, encouraging everyone to live more sustainably, in small or big ways.

We invite you to take part in one or all of the following ways:

    • Volunteer your time to help the festival team plan and run the festival.
    • Take part as an organisation, school, community group, church group, local project or business. Plan an activity that we can add to our programme.
    • Add an event or activity to the programme that you know is already happening.
    • Sign up as a stallholder, information stand or activity for the Big Green Fair.
    • Let us know of any burning ideas that you would like to try out as part of the festival.
